Five O'Clock Tea

Five O'Clock Tea by
Mary Cassatt
1880

 An ode to tea

When the world is at odds,
And the mind is at sea,
Then cease the useless tedium,
And brew a cup of tea.

There is magic in it’s fragrance,
There is solace in it’s taste;
And the laden moments vanish,
Somehow into space.

And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There’s beauty as you see;
All because you briefly stopped,
To brew a cup of tea.

Now that lilacs are in bloom

The Bunch of Lilacs by James Tissot public domain
The Bunch of Lilacs
Now that lilacs are in bloom
She has a bowl of lilacs in her room
And twists one in her fingers while she talks.

“Ah my friend, you do not know, you do not know
What life is, you who hold it in your hands—”
(Slowly twisting the lilac stalks);
“You let it flow from you, you let it flow,
And youth is cruel, and has no remorse,
And smiles at situations which it cannot see.”
I smile, of course,
And go on drinking tea.

“Yet with these April sunsets, that somehow recall
My buried life, and Paris in the spring,
I feel immeasurably at peace, and find the world
To be wonderful and youthful, after all.”

Tea By A Cozy Fire

On a cold winter day, a cozy fire and a cup of tea

"The cozy fire is bright and gay,
The merry kettle boils away
And hums a cheerful song.
I sing the saucer and the cup;
Pray, Mary, fill the teapot up,
And do not make it strong."

Thanksgiving - have a cup of tea!

 "We are guessing you just might overeat in the coming week (not sure, but...just in case), remember that Green Tea helps your liver process fat and speeds your metabolism.

So, after your delicious holiday meal, have a cup or two of our Egyptian Mint, Dragonwell, Tropical Green or any other and enjoy less impact for ...your indulgences!"

The Kinks - Have a Cuppa Tea, 1972

Have a Cuppa Tea - The Kinks Lyrics:

Granny's always ravin' and rantin'
And she's always puffin' and pantin',
And she's always screaming and shouting,
And she's always brewing up tea.
